      Here's NEWS....Pensacola, FL., August 1923, via "Aeronautical Digest"...a novel plan for teaching radio code to student naval aviators has been under trial and gives eery indications of

 being both practical and valuable.  The plan is to teach students radio code while they are asleep.  Before turning in at night the student adjusts the receivers on his head which are used in the regular class.  A watch is stood throughout the night by expert operations on the sending key and throughout the night hey send at high-speed, about 10 words in excess of the student's capacity to receive.  It has ben found that in his conscious hours the following day, the student is able to receive messages at the speed they were sent to him while he was asleep.  HOW MANY HAVE TRIED THIS?  (I Put the code machine under my pillow and then started counting sheep.)

This Sunday by request we will discuss "SLEEP."    Remember, "The rest of the days depends on the rest of your nights."    This will be a repeat--we discussed this about two years ago but we can brush it off and diddle it up a little.

 

Did you hear about the drunk who was wandering round the parking lot of a bar, bumping into every car and then rubbing the roofs of the cars.  The manager comes out of the bar and stops the guy, "What the heck are you doing, he asks, "I'm looking for my car, and I can't  find it."  So how does feeling the roof  help you?"  Well, the drunk replied, "My car has two blue lights and a siren on the roof."

     Chip N5RTF suggested we talk about "The Future."  What can we expect?  This topic is so large it should be better defined--what are your suggestions?  Future of Medicine?  The Future?  What will Putin do next?  Please cooperate by listing what you (all) mean.

     And remember, "If you find yourself in a hole-- stop digging."

     I hope Sunday's toothache is gone!

MARCO Grand Rounds for March 9, 2014

This Sunday, George Vilican, DDS, KE8GA , North Carolina, requested a talk on "Root Canals."  George, we hope will be on board this Sunday as I am NOT a dentist, BUT have had several root canals like you fellows have probably had also.  Once you have had a root canal you do not want another! 

     Since you have 32 teeth it means you could have 32 root canals so it is a subject we should cover (with something).  It is also possible you could have 64 root canals if the dentist decides to leave some of the pulp behind (good for business?)

     If George is not  on board, perhaps another dentist might help out--I have pulled, or wedged out a few teeth in my career as a family doctor, so if all fails you will hear the story, but not from the horses mouth!  Tune in should be fun.
