From Warren, KD4GUA:
This Sunday we will discuss
"How Much Would You Pay for Three more Months of Life?" Bob Smithwick
submitted an article from Newsweek, Sept. 3, 2012, which went on to state, "If
these drugs cure the disease...no one would be questioning these prices."
Example: $93,000, the cost for Provenge for patient's with late-stage
prostate cancer. Where does the buck stop?
Drugs to be discussed
include Perjecta, Yervoy, Provenge, Terceva, Avastin & Proton-beam therapy
which costs twice as much as X-ray radiation. I had a doctor friend with
terminal cancer who told me, "Living has gotten too expensive,
I prefer to die." He did and saved his grandchildren's college
money. What would WE do under similar circumstances--or is that decision
too difficult to make unless you are under the scaffold. Tune in, should
be gruesome FUN (?)
