(Jerry N4TSC) we will discuss the "Biologicals," a
group of medicines which began to appear about ten years ago and which are now
making a bigger and bigger splash (Epogen, Enbrel, Remicade,
Herceptin etc.).
Biological medicines are medical drugs produced using biotechnology--that
is, therapeutic products created through the genetic manipulation of living
cells or organisms. They are complex and have a larger molecular
weight than medicines produced chemically.
