MARCO Grand Rounds for August 4, 2013

Vacation Time....KD4GUA will be on vacation in the Nation's Capital so will miss the next two weeks....instead, we will have Vox Pox, voice of the people--YOU!  Danny W4DAN promises to tell how he turned from an introvert to an extrovert (someone take notes, this should be good!) next Sunday.

 

The Bad Guy seems to have moved into our old frequency at our time--he lingers like leprosy...Hope everyone got their "Aether" without being "torn up" by the P.O. machines!

 

We had 32 check-ins which isn't bad for the new frequency...You guys (we had no girls this

Sunday) voted 7 to 1 to allow dogs in the waiting room--that is 4-legged ones.....they, the dogs,  must be calm, clean,  and behaved in order to get a govt certified PT (pet certified) dog tag which enables them to legitimately spread the fleas to your patients (good for business?)

 

I hope the hurricanes stay away while I'm away, will lower my antenna, (too bad I can't lower the house!)(maybe the hurricanes will do it for me)?

 This Sunday we will finish up "defibrillation" and move on to two different topics:

     1.  "Pet Therapy"  Should we keep pets in the waiting room to calm patients down?

     2.  "How an introvert can be happier: Act like an Extrovert."  Taken from an article in the Wall St. Journal of July 23 by Sumathi Reddy.

     This Sunday we will discuss "Low Testosterone Levels."  (also, referred to as "low rhubarb titers." )   It seems the hottest items out there are low Vitamin D levels and low testosterone levels---so you take both and what happens?  Tune in, should be fun!

 

     We are still allergic to the terrorist so we are steering clear of the lower frequency and hanging out at 14.342.

This Sunday we will go for the "Disease of the Week," only it will be "DiseaseS of the Week." 

No. 1....Should nurse practitioners be able to treat patients without Physician oversight?

No. 2....The Morning After Pill.

No. 3....Sunscreen as a youth serum.

 

And remember:  "Stressed" spelled backwards is DESSERTS--I believe I'll take chocolate and ice cream.

 

Tune in should be fun--there was an article Chip might have missed whereas it is postulated that pot smoking tips one over the cliff into schizophrenia if one is prone.  Oh yes, there is an outfit in Colorado now selling coin machines that dispenses the stuff.  If you want the stock symbol, tune in Sunday.
